Work, learning, and technical contributions

Semiconductor technlogy

Currently, I work as a Senior Principal Engineer at ON Semiconductor in the MOSFET Device Design group. I have been a semiconductor technologist for 15+ years, working in the field of power electronics systems, semiconductor technology development, and product innovation.

I am also leading AI/ML based projects to add value to semiconductor design and product innovations. My projects involve interesting ideas such as...

Formal education

I have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur.

I am also pursuing an Masters of Science (MS) Degree in Analytics (specializing in Computational Data Analytics) from Georgia Tech, since Fall 2018. I plan to finish it by summer 2021.

Data science, Machine learning

Apart from my work, I do personal projects on data science and machine learning. I contribute to open-source and have published multiple Python packages related to data analytics and statistical modeling. See this page for my projects.

I am a data science communicator, publishing highly cited articles on popular online platforms such as Medium, AnalyticsVidya, Opensource.com, and KDnuggets.

My first data science related book Data wrangling with Python was published on February, 2019. In future, I wish to self-publish a second book about Hands-on mathematics/statistics for data scientists.

I regularly conduct/teach IEEE workshop/Boot camps on data science and ML topics, in collaboration with ValleyML.ai organization. See this page to register for this year's Boot camp.

I have been invited to multiple webinars and podcasts where I have talked about my journey in the field of data science and machine learning. Here is the latest webinar I gave in July 2020.

Contribution to the technical community

I am serving on the Technical Content Committee for the Open Data Science Conference (ODSC) West, 2020.

In 2015, I was elevated to the grade of Senior Member of IEEE for my contributions towards power electronics. I have authored/co-authored more than 25 peer-reviewed Transaction and Conference papers, 2 monographs/book chapters, and 4 U.S. Patents. Here is my Google Scholar Page.

I also serve on the technical program committee as Track/Topic chair in numerous IEEE conferences. I am the co-chair of the Semiconductor Committee of Power Supply Manufacturers' Association (PSMA).
